About
Hi, I'm Daniel Mazzei.
I founded Mazzei Momentum after seeing the progress my friends made under my guidance. My passion is to extend that impact to more people, helping them break through barriers and achieve their running goals with personalized coaching.
At West Point, I competed on the Cross Country and Track teams while managing the intense demands of a Civil Engineering degree. As team captain, I learned how to lead and motivate athletes through injury, fatigue, and personal challenges. This experience shaped my coaching philosophy: I understand the importance of balancing training with life’s demands. Every runner’s journey is unique, and my approach ensures clients progress at a pace that builds strength while avoiding injury or burnout.
For those preparing for intense military training like Ranger School or Special Forces Selection, I combine my qualifications as a Ranger School Graduate and my expertise in endurance training to create regimens designed for the ultimate physical tests. One of my clients, Jeremiah, improved his rucking time from a 14:00 per mile with 45lbs to a 10:45 per mile with 60lbs for 12 miles, preparing for SFAS through focused, tailored training.
Building mental toughness is as important as physical fitness, and my approach helps clients gradually develop both. Increasing runs and intensities over time, I guide them to surpass their limits, building not only endurance but confidence.
Personally, I’m inspired by my clients’ progress. After facing a lung condition that sidelined my own training, their achievements fuel my drive to keep coaching at my best while I work toward my own recovery and future goals.
Through Mazzei Momentum, I aim to teach my clients efficient training methods while inspiring them to keep pushing past their limits. Ultimately, I strive to foster a community where runners support and challenge each other to grow stronger and achieve their goals together.
